Q: Dominika, what is your role at Northpoint and what does it involve?

My main role is to look after our customers. I make sure that our production is planned to meet our customer’s demands. I work closely with the production supervisor and logistic supervisor to make sure all goods are ready on time and delivered to our customers when expected.

Q: What is your favourite part of your job? What are the main challenges?

What I like the most is to work with people, be it the wonderful team we have at Northpoint, or our customers. Some of our customers have been with us for years, so we have a really good relationship. I would say the biggest challenge comes with the busiest periods. Our team works hard to meet all of our customers demands, and so far we have never failed.

Q: You recently celebrated a work anniversary. How long have you been working for Northpoint? Tell us a bit about your experience.

I have been working at Northpoint for over 15 years. I started as an office assistant and throughout the years I have gained more experience and confidence. I have the privilege to work with a very supportive and experienced management team which was open to share the knowledge and help me to be where I am now. Northpoint highly supported me during my degree and the company was very understanding with regards to my study commitments, work schedule, and personal life.

Q: What makes Northpoint a good place to work?

Northpoint management fosters a supportive work culture where the company ensures that the employees know that the work is recognised, meaningful and rewarding. Northpoint embodies a supportive culture and promotes mutual respect and trust. Also, from my personal experience, the company is very supportive of working parents.

Q: Northpoint understands quality assurance is key to their customers. What impact do you think quality has for Northpoint? How do you make your clients feel confident in your work?

Our business is built around our customer’s needs. Putting our customers in the central part of the business helps us build a good reputation in the industry and strong relationship with the people we work with. Our quality is recognized in the powder coating market. Northpoint has a very experienced and skilled team, and we do numerous quality checks before the work gets dispatched to our customers.

Q: What is the most exciting project you’ve ever worked on?

There have been a lot of interesting projects in the last 15 years. We did a few projects in the Middle East and in Europe. The one I remember the most was the fencing around the Sellafield nuclear plant.

Q: What are you working on right now?

Currently we are trying to promote our multi metal line (sheet metal). The plant is relatively new, so we are trying to build a solid base of customers.

On this line we can coat multiple items that require not just an aesthetic coating but also functional coatings. Powder coating is a dry finishing process created by an electric charge that allows a dry powder to bond with the surface of the metal, it is then baked in a curing oven to achieve the desired finish. This creates a hard, durable finish that is stronger than conventional paint.

We strongly believe we put our customers first and offer an exceptional service in price, turnaround, and quality. Some items can be coated in as little as 24 hours with preplanning and good communications with our customers.
